A small ceramic casserole dish featuring hand painted hydrangeas and blue rim. Made in Colombia (South America) by Ceramicas Renacer. Manufacturer's stamp on the bottom. The "Hortencia" pattern is one of their most popular designs: "It is a very local experience, since it is a flower that is planted in the crops of the area, and at the same time it is very universal since this flower in its structure, apparently complex, is a repetition of simple elements".
Founded in 1998, Cerámicas Renacer is today one of the most well-regarded pottery workshops in El Carmen del Viboral, a picturesque town located in the mountainous region of Antioquia, Colombia. Skilled artisans implement traditional pottery making techniques with white clay from the region. Each piece is then beautifully painted by hand with different patterns that have been passed down from generation to generation.
