The fine art lithograph color print is published by Abrams, No. 86799, printed in Japan in 1969 in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an artwork image originally created by Thiebaud in 1962-63 titled " Cake Counter ".

The original painting is held in the permanent collection of The National Gallery of Art Washington D.C., gift from The Collectors Committee, with additional support from The Abrams Family.

Wayne Thiebaud ( 1920 - 2021 ) is an American painter widely known for his luscious handling of paint, and brilliant color palette of works depicting commonplace objects that combined sensuousness, nostalgia and a hint of melancholy. Thiebaud is associated with The Pop Art Movement because of his interest in objects of mass culture, although his early works, executed during the 1950's and 1960's, slightly predate the works of classic Pop artists. He uses heavy pigment and exaggerated colors to depict his subjects, and the well defined shadows characteristic of advertisements are almost always included in his work. Art works by Thiebaud are included in the collections of many of the most prestigious museums.

The rare out of print framed fine art lithograph Pop Art print measures 26 1/4" W X 20 1/4" H X 1 1/2" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern satin finish bleached white oak wood museum box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling.
