Offered is a pair of biomorphic-shaped glazed stoneware tripod candleholders created by Joyce McCullough, circa. 1960s, 1970s.
From her obituary published in the Arizona Daily Star: "Born February 25, 1923 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, Ms McCullough died in Tucson, Arizona on April 24, 2017. Together, Joyce and her husband, George, were accomplished artists who exhibited in New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, and experimented in a wide variety of media. They moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1962 and opened a studio creating stoneware pottery that was sold throughout the United States. After her husband's death, Joyce continied operating the pottery studio until physical limitations forced her retirement."
Each is a distinct and unique candle holder - one measures approximately 4" W x 4" D x 3" H, and the other measures 4.5" W x 4" D x 2.75" H.
