This chair features a lacquered white fiberglass half sphere base, which rests on a black lacquered fiberglass ring and can move freely to change angle and direction. It has a beautiful scalloped profile which emulates a flower, a nod to the name ‘Girasole,’ or sunflower in Italian. This striking piece retains its original orange fabric and one circular pillow. Unmarked. Sourced in Italy, 1960s.
Luciano Frigerio (1928-1999) was an Italian designer, artist and musician, who transformed his father’s small cabinet making business into an internationally renowned company with ten showrooms across Italy.
