Its rounded sides are not only visually striking, but also speak to the caliber of the piece. Favored in fine Renaissance Revival furniture for the better flow they brought to a room, such contours required exceptional craftsmanship, as the oak had to be carved on a radius with great precision, demanding both skill and expense to achieve.
