This is a rare antique Swedish sugar cutting box dating to the late 19th century.
The box is made of pine and features a lift up lid which opens to reveal an internal metal cutter set over a pierced base. To the bottom of the box is a shallow drawer, designed to catch the sugar which has been cut from a sugar loaf in the compartment above.
The metal blade is stamped with L.G.Wibell, Eskilstuna.
The wood has a waxed finish.
