Artist Biography
Douglas Paul Morgan was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1948. He was educated at the University of Dayton in Ohio. After moving to California he attended the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.Morgan is a full time fine artist with his studio located in San Francisco. He currently is an Instructor at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.Morgan is a Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America, and the Society of Western Artists. He is an Artist Member of the California Art Club. He is a member of the California Art Club's Board of Directors. He is also a Member of the newly formed, exclusive, Northern California Painters Group.Morgan has had his works exhibited nationally, and throughout California. His works have been accepted for exhibition at the prestigious California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibition in Pasadena from 1997-2003. He has also exhibited in the Oil Painters of America National exhibitions, the Carmel Art Festival, California Art Club San Juan Capistrano Painting Festival, Society of Western Artists, Salmagundi Club in New York, and the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association events. Douglas Morgan has been an award winner in many venues....including the California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibition, Carmel Art Festival, Society of Western Artists, and has been a finalist on many occasions with the Artist's Magazine Annual competition. His works have been featured in several prestigious publications. See less
