Marina combines a once exotic but now ubiquitous orchid with a tiny Italian glass dog and an American $20 bill to create a subtle still life. A quiet painting with a feeling of zen in a turbulent time. The painting is signed in Torrit gray on the lower left. The frame is antique gold-tone, restarined in style to compliment the zen quiet of the image. The painting was created on a wooden panel in the old masters style. The painting is 12" tall by 9" wide. Marina Movshina is an American artist known for landscape painting, and for her illustrations of children’s books, as well as her botanicals. Her paintings have been selected for the exhibition of distinguished alumni at Carnegie-Mellon’s Centennial Celebration of its College of Fine Art, the Logan Center at the University of Chicago and the Harlin Museum in West Plains, MO.
