Goma learned dress making at a young age in his home town of Montpellier, France and moved to Paris in 1951 where he started to sell his fashion sketches at the age of 19. He worked for Jeanne Lafaurie and eventually bought the company to establish his haute couture house in his name. However, this lasted only a few years. In 1965 he left to join the House of Patou where he worked for many years. In 1987 he took helm of House of Balenciaga where he is best known for his prêt-â-porter (ready to wear) collections.

These original fashion drawings are from the early 1960s when Goma had his own couture house in Paris. They are done in pencil on drawing paper. They have strong styling elements featuring long evening dresses with a sense of drama, uniqueness, and elegance. They each have a sense of fun and pizzazz. And, Goma’s playful styling with his gesturing, hair creations, jewelry accessories and, of course, the gloves finish the look! These are statement designs are indeed one-of-a-kind. The drawings make a superb wall grouping and are perfect for today’s fashionista. Excellent condition with no markings. (One has original notation on the drawing.)
