A warm palette of brown, green, pink, peach and creamy white depict this still life bowl of fruit and uncut watermelon, called “Edgar’s Table” and signed by the artist. Lightfoot was a prolific painter of Native American portraits and lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This painting (and “Gorky’s Plate,” also offered in our shop) may have been from his early career — a few other of his still life paintings have surfaced from the 1960s. A treasure indeed. See less
