Woven in the Aegean region of Anatolia, this piece represents a masterclass in modern flatweave technique. It bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and fine art, taking direct inspiration from Paul Klee’s "Heroic Strokes of the Bow" to create a rhythmic, musical movement across the silk surface.
Ideal for Organic Modern, Japandi, or Mid-Century Modern interiors, this silk-on-silk kilim offers a luxurious sheen and incredibly fine texture. Each line and dot is hand-woven with precision over a twenty-day period, transforming a functional object into a piece of gallery-quality textile art.

■ Motifs & Symbolism:This design is a contemporary homage to the musicality of modern art, where the "strokes" represent the motion of a violin bow across strings. While the primary inspiration is Western modernism, the weaver’s hands naturally introduce Anatolian nuances into the geometry. The central "eye" motif acts as a subtle nod to the Nazar, a traditional symbol for protection, while the dark crescents represent the moon's phases. This synthesis of Bauhaus-era theory and ancient weaving heritage makes the rug a rare collector's item.
■ Color Palette: A high-contrast palette of saturated ocean tones and deep obsidian creates a sophisticated, atmospheric depth.
• Ground Color: White
• Accent Colors: Charcoal Black

■ What is a Turkish Kilim/Rug?:
A Turkish rug is a piece of living history, hand-knotted by artisans using techniques passed down through generations. These rugs are typically made with high-quality wool and natural dyes, resulting in a durable piece of art that gains character with age. Unlike machine-made alternatives, each Turkish rug is unique, featuring slight variations in color and weave that tell the story of the weaver and their region.

About original drawing from moma org: The title of this late work suggests that the black zigzags refer to the rhythmic strokes of a violin bow. Evoking a tablet of hieroglyphs, these thick, seemingly unrehearsed lines traverse the ground, bounding dashes, circles, and indecipherable symbols. While barely legible beneath a layer of colored paste, comparatively delicate newspaper type runs vertically, rooting the work in its contemporary moment. Following the rise of the Nazi regime in Germany, from 1933 until his death Klee lived in exile in Switzerland. These last years of his life were marked by intense productivity and assertive directness
