This Antique, art deco exhibition poster is a full-page, multi-color illustrated newspaper advertisement for the Third Annual Pacific Auto Show, printed in the San Francisco Examiner. It features a detailed illustration of a woman poised similarly to the Statue of Liberty, with the newest automobiles of the time in the background. Professionally mounted and framed under museum-quality, anti-glare glass with a pewter metal frame for preservation.
Through research, we know that the event took place February 6th-15th 1919, and was sponsored by the San Francisco Motor Car Dealers Association, which is now the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). Entertainment included Herman Heller and his 30 piece band.
Art Deco design aesthetic. The glorification of the automobile also nods to the Industrial/Machine Aesthetic movement, which was happening concurrently. This is a rare, collectible treat any car or graphic design enthusiast can appreciate. Commemorates American industry and manufacturing at its finest.
