About the Artist:
Chuck Dodson (1908–1993) was an architect-turned-sculptor known for his vibrant presence in the Miami art scene. He served as a resident artist at the Grove House in Coconut Grove and was recognized for his small, often erotic sculptures, some of which featured his wife, Danielle, a retired ballerina. Dodson gained national attention in the 1970s when Playboy Magazine featured him in an article. He is perhaps best known for his large-scale works, including the mosaic murals at the Orange Bowl Stadium (demolished in 2008) and the bas-relief sculptures at the Miami Dupont Plaza Hotel (demolished in 2005).
