Rosenthal was founded in 1879 in Selb, Bavaria, and Himmelstoss (1872-1967), a sculptor and designer of fine porcelain. was active on behalf of the Rosenthal porcelain manufactory from 1912 until 1938. This exquisite depiction of a cherub and lamb is beautifully hand painted and signed on the figure's elliptical base. Very much "of the period," this sculptural piece has an art nouveau feel to it.
