It was … Read more Simple and elegant, this mid-century marble lamp traveled on a U.S. Naval carrier ship from Italy to Virginia. It was found at the estate of a retired US Naval officer near George Washington’s Mount Vernon. This is a wonderful table lamp for anyone who appreciates clean lines and simplicity. Given its neutral color and shape, this lamp can work in a variety of interior styles. See less

Given that this is likely over 50 years, this has patina consistent with age and prior use. More specifically, this lamp’s socket and harp have tarnished over the years. There are also minor chips that can be seen on the edges of the lamp’s base. The cord works, but shows its age. This was lightly cleaned with water, but otherwise remains in its original vintage condition. While this works at the time of this listing, I recommend having it professionally checked and updated to accommodate today’s light bulbs. Finally, the estate company identified this as a marble lamp, but it could also be an alabaster lamp. I cannot guarantee the exact stone type.. Length of 19” represents the base to the top of the socket. Otherwise it measures 26” from the base to the top of the harp provided.
