An original oil painting on wooden panel by E. Collier, British artist (probably an illustrator) flourished 1930'S, "Snow at the Coaching Inn - 1930", 12" x 12", scene snow covered timbered building, a brick entryway to the right, four people standing by the entry, a sunny day casting deep shadows on the snowy ground, signed E. Collier and dated 1930 in the lower right corner front. CA number 3940, CA purchase winter of 2024 from a southern England auction house.
The painting has been cleaned and varnished to protect the paint film. It is reframed in 2 1/4" original Abe Munn gray antiqued timbered reverse with an antiqued gold lip moulding. The painting is in good condition. There are several shallow, slight depressions in the wooden panel at the top left corner however they are difficult to see.
