This is the rare "3 ½-3" sized pendant with original matte glass shades and patinated bronze bayonet socket house as invented by poul henningsen in the mid 1920s. Stamped "patented". Only one owner and all original parts. Notice: this is an all original pendant from the very early years of the production. No parts have ever been replaced and even all 4 glass shades are original. Upper shade diameter 33 cm. / 13 inches. Middle shade diameter: 20 cm. / 7,9 inches. Lower shade diameter: 11 cm. / 4,3 inches. Bottom glass/cup: 11 cm. / 4.3 inches. Poul henningsen designed hundreds of lamps based on the three-shade-system he developed in 1926, enabling unequalled lighting quality for all types of needs. Many of his lamp designs include a number that refers to the shade sizes of each fixture. The ph 3 ½-3 is described as an almost ‘whole’ sized pendant, characterised by its appealing compact semblance with the top shade of approximately 33 cm corresponding with the middle and lower shade in the proportions of 3:2:1. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
