Japanese haribako, a hand-carved wooden sewing box with three drawers.
At the top, there is storage space with two openable lids and a beautifully shaped handle.
The front is adorned with a floral motif in wood carving that extends over the drawers.
This wood carving/lacquer technique is called Kamakura Bori lacquerwork.
The wood is finished with glossy lacquer, giving the piece a luxurious appearance.
