Offering a finely hand-stitched embroidered textile known as a story cloth by the Hmong people framed and ready to hang.
Framed in light oak under glass.
Hmong needlecraft used traditional designs to depict a scene, event or narrative from Hmong history or culture. This scene showcases a variety of different animals from the Hmong landscape.
Great Water Buffalo challenging in the foreground.
Wild guar drinking at a pond blooming with flowers. The river flows to the pond from the mountains where the monkey live and eat high in the trees. The trees are blooming with bright colored flowers and butterflies. Various birds nesting in trees and more that eat on the ground with chickens, rabbits, bears and more!
The scene is extravagantly framed with hand-quilting-triangles in shades of blue sandwiched by two double borders in blue and white further framed in dark blue next to the light oak wood frame.
An excellent piece of Hmong needlework.
