This pair of hand-painted porcelain table lamps was crafted in portugal by the renowned alcobaça porcelain factory (founded by jose dos reis in 1875)—a name steeped in history and artistry, now regrettably extinct. Bothe lamps are stamped with the factory's name (elpa alcobaça) and one of them is numbered, which means that only a certain number of them were ever manufactured.

Elpa stands for "empresa de louças de porcelana de alcobaça," which translates to "porcelain china company of alcobaça." alcobaça is a city in portugal known for its rich history in ceramics production. The elpa alcobaça factory was renowned for producing high-quality porcelain and ceramics, often featuring intricate designs and hand-painted motifs. Unfortunately, like many historical factories, it have ceased operations, leading to its extinction.
these lamps, although carrying some signs of time (crack lines, visible on the photos) are true collectors items,
