Since the renaissance, many attempts have been made to develop ideal cities in which there would live perfect and sustainable communities. The new cities were planned in rational and geometric styles, trying to reflect the new habits and evolution of societies with the aim of improving the living conditions of its inhabitants. However, due to their complexity, the vast majority of them failed to transpose the theoretical idealizations of a utopian urbanism. The arches ii bar stool is a redesign of the original dining chair. Suggesting the complexity of utopian cities, organized by the principles of symmetry and ideal forms, the profile shows details that seem to be drawn from large architectural structures. The raised backrest is subtly elevated by the structure, whereas a folded brass bar arises as a support element that prevents the contact of the arches with the floor. Created by architect joana santos barbosa in 2012, insidherland is a portuguese brand of exclusive design. Drawn with the signature of the creator, the impressive range of contemporary luxury furniture, lighting, upholstery and accessories are connected to her personal memories and have been highlighted for their innovative and soulful designs.
