The bookcase is rectangular in shape and uses the geometric forms favoured by the designer. It has eight smoked glass shelves in a large gilded brass structure. The black lacquered wooden base opens with three doors to reveal storage space. This large, high-quality piece of furniture can be used as a room divider. Born in Berlin, Kim Moltzer (1938-2015) was raised in Argentina before studying in Europe. In 1966, he founded ECFI, a design office for professional spaces and flats with the architect Jean-Paul Barray. A versatile artist, he designed furniture for numerous French personalities such as the Rothchilds and the Pompidou couple. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
