Breathtaking work from a painter most closely associated with the Laguna Beach artists' community of the midcentury. His watercolor technique is nothing short of astonishing. Under glass. Measures 39 1/2" x 25" and the frame is 42" x 28".
Eugene Page Nowlen was born in 1899 and died September 27, 1977. He studied and graduated from MIT, Boston, in Architecture. Also with Sueo Serisawa, Paul Darrow, Hans Burkhardt, and Leonard Edmondson. Active exhibition program, several one-man exhibits. Source from Laguna Beach Art Association cat. 1978.
