A painting of a barn in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. nestled in a lush landscape in Chester County.
The painting is dated 7/48 on the back of the canvas. It looks like an oil painting, as stated in sticker on back, from a previous gallery show, and it does have a varnished surface. There are some signs of age of the paint and some creases in the canvas, commensurate with age of painting (1948). See close up photos, happy to provide more photos upon request.
It is not signed by the artist, Tony Trezza.
Based on the year, Tony would have been studying at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. I recall him telling me that he and a few friends would frequently drive from Philadelphia out to the country to paint.
The painting is in original matte and frame. The lining of the double matte does show signs of discoloration and age. The frame has a rustic textured look with some imperfections.
This is one of two paintings with a similar subject matter. I will be listing the other painting also.
