Rare Phaethornis Hispidus "Hairy Hermit" print by John Gould and Richard Bowdler Sharpe from a series published in London from 1849 to 1887. Plate 22.
Even more rare because it has an embossed seal from the Field Columbian Museum in Chicago (now known as Field Museum). The print is an individual page from a book deaccessioned from the library.
Gold beaded frame with gold beveled silk matting.
Excellent condition.
Note: My shop is selling three Gould Hummingbird prints (separately) from the same series that complement each other when hung as a duo or trio.
