19th Century Pair of French Bronze Wall Sconces Louis XVI Style
This is a pair of Louis XVI cast bronze sconces (circa late 19th century). Done in neoclassical style, which drew inspiration from classical antiquity, they feature quality and excellence of French craftsmanship. Each sconce is gilded, with foliage motif, and has five arms for holding candles. At the top there is a flame finial that is resting above the acanthus vase, and has a ribbon attached to its handles, overall giving off the triumphant notes.
There is some loss of gilt, due to their age, but otherwise in very good condition.
Came from France.
Approximate measurements: 18 1/2" long, 12" wide, 7" deep
