A French pair of 19th century Louis XVI style painted mantel mirrors. The carved frames have impressive crests at the tops with a quiver of arrows, a torch and laurel leaves - their Neoclassical symbolism is toned down and softened by the moody gray tones of the patinated finish. The mirror glass is alive with spotted dark foxing that draws the viewer in for a closer look but does not totally obscure the reflection. Please see the detailed images. Sold as a pair, to use independently between two rooms or in tandem for impactful symmetry.
