This antique commode from Italy has its original artisan painted finish which includes a faux-marbled top, drawer fronts outlining the panel trim and embellished with scrolling foliage, and both sides painted in a beautiful under-water depiction of a renaissance style dolphin with trident, shell, and sea grasses. The chest features a rectangular-shaped top above a case which houses three full-sized, graduated drawers, a straight-line skirt with rectangular-accents at the center of three sides, and presented upon four flute-carved spaded feet.
