Jean Louis Prévost (1760 - 1810) was a French still-life painter most recognized for his floral paintings in oil and watercolor. His works have been prolifically reproduced as color plates for botanical books because of the realistic details. He was associated with the botanical painter Gérard van Spaendonck and exhibited with the Academie Royale and the Academy of Saint-Luc. You can find his work today in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Sidney Z. Lucas was a Hungarian-born, New York-based art reproduction printer in the early and mid-20th century. His wife, Phillis Lucas, and children carried on his work, with his daughter Lucile still running the Lucile Lucas Gallery in Colorado today.
