About the Artist: Vittorio Osvaldo Tommasini Farfa (1881-1964) better known by the pen name Farfa, was an Italian painter and poet. Italian Impressionist Artist / Father of the "Futurism" Art Movement. The protagonist of Futurism (active in Trieste, Turin, Savona - he lived in Via Istra - moved to Sanremo), as a poster artist, ceramist, photographer and poet. He was the author of colorful cartopitture and bizarre books. From the late fifties it was rediscovered by the surrealists (Arturo Schwarz , Enrico Baj) and other avant-garde protagonists (Asger Jorn). It was inserted by Edoardo Sanguineti in his Novecento Italian Poetry and by Glauco Viazziin The Poets of Futurism. See less
