Helene Kreszenz Sedlmayer (12 February 1813, Trostberg Munich) was a German Beauty of the 19th century. She was considered to be the epitome of Munich's beauties. A Shoemaker's daughter, she became known to Ludwig I of Bavaria when (aged 15) she supplied toys to his children. He commissioned a portrait of her from Stieler for his gallery of beauties. She married the king's valet Hermes Miller (1804-1871) in 1831 with whom she had 10 children. Her original portrait was painted by artist Joseph Stieler from 1826-1850. It is in the Palace Schonheitengalarie with 35 other girls picked out by king Ludwig. The good king wanted only the most beautiful girls and they were chosen from all types of society. This art is on R.P.M. porcelain of Germany. It is marked on the back as a gift in 1988. Glazed Porcelain, Hand-Crafted Giltwood See less
