This scarce and valuable 1983 book by Francoise Gilot "Interface: The Painter And The Mask" is a companion to her … more This scarce and valuable 1983 book by Francoise Gilot "Interface: The Painter And The Mask" is a companion to her first book, "Life with Picsso (1964). The 196-page.softcover/wraps was published by The Press at California State University, Fresno. This volume details how Gilot grew as an artist ,both when she lived with Picasso for 10 years (from 1944) and after she left him in 1953. The book also describes her memories of the modern painting masters she met in Paris - Braque, Miro, Gris, and Duchamp. Using images from "the Commedia dell 'arte," Gilot unveils her aesthetic of "the gaze" - the interface between an artist's perception and their creation. An accomplished artist, with works in many world-wide museums, Gilot's book is a sought-after history and reference on Picasso, modern art masters, Gilot's independence and her painter's life in Paris Mid-Century. , This copy ihas been read.. The cover's upper corner is slightly curled. Inside, the first 54-pages are underlined, with marginalia,(but legible) leaving the rest of the 150 or so pages clean, bright and unmarked. We suppose the previous owner used this book as a reference for writing or teaching. This book lists elsewhere for up to $500, so the condition of this one has rendered it something of a bargain. - Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller

- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
