This listing is for a lovely antique silver plated, Reed & Barton swing handle pedestal cake stand.
This was traditionally given as a wedding gift for the bride. Hence the name Brides' basket.
The interior is embossed with intricate engraved design features of ivy and a scroll design.
There is a medallion decoration on outer edge (see photo) noted four times around the outer rim.
The swing handle is accented by a small detail on top of the handle.
This 1920's period cake stand is in very good condition with no dents or dings. There is one area with minor silver loss on the interior of the pedestal (see photo). But otherwise there are no other dents, flaws or silver loss.
It measures 13.5" high, and 9" across at top, and 4.25 at the bottom of base.
