It is most likely of the Minoan civilization characteristic with a white crackled background and blue, orange, green, and red contrasting colors represented on life-like human figures. Three hand-made cast patinated griffins are bolted to the pottery. The griffins have a green-patina color with accents of gold as can be seen in the close-up of the mounts. Griffins are characterized by having a bird (eagle) head. Eagles are legendary creatures--the 'king' of all birds--illustrating power and majesty. See less
