Likely the single largest private collection of Awaji & Whieldon glaze pottery. The largest compilation of this kind in the market. After the renowned interior designer, Mario Buata’s personal collection set a record of 12 sold at Auction, this collection boasts 25 pieces. Variying in size, glaze, different oxidation levels and origins (Japan & England), the collection showcases the varied possibilities of this ancient art form. A true collector’s set who wishes not only to be inspired every day by the beauty of these pieces, but also to share the diaspora and uniqueness of this art form. An equally wonderful gift to a National Museum that would be thrilled to exhibit such a collection. This Ancient form of Pottery is showcased in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, Paris’ Louvre, London’s National Gallery to name a few.
Ranging from 2” to 6” height. Some pieces available with the lids. Some nesting pots are a complete set. Some are open face.
