American neo-transitional desk chair featuring antique style claw arm heavy five leg mahogany base, with lacquered brass caps, swivel-tilt mechanism, on ball casters. These seats came out historic Byron White Court House downtown in downtown Denver. Which currently serves as the United States Court of Appeals for the tenth circuit (the highest court in the land), under the U.S. Supreme Court. This building occupies the entire block between Champa, and Stout, 18th and 19th street, and is an incredible “old worlder”, it’s exterior facade is clad in 100% white “Yule” marble, the same marble said to have been used for the Lincoln Monument, in Washington, D.C. These chair’s are a modern reflection of both the wealth, and the power this court retains to this day. As far as we can tell they are bespoke, and no other is known to exist. Manufactured by Bernhardt, made in U.S.A., circa early 21st century.
Piece dimensions:
Interior seat dimensions are 22.5” at widest point, 19” between lower section of wooden armrest, and 16” inside to inside where chair seat meets the backrest.
