Self-taught landscape painter and photo-engraver Harvey B. Coleman was born on January 27, 1884, in New York, and lived briefly in Texas, perhaps for as little as two years. He lived in Chicago, then in Fort Worth, Texas sometime before 1925.
He moved around 1927 to Los Angeles, California, where he plied his photo-engraving trade with local newspapers. He died in Phoenix, Arizona on September 30, 1959.
He exhibited three times in the Annual Texas Artists Exhibition, Fort Worth, in 1926-28; and the California State Fair, in 1930.
