The design displays the exemplary talent of the progressive Italian product design during the seventies and eighties.
Important piece that is clearly a precursor for the later Memphis and postmodern furniture design movement performed by Ettore Sottsass, Philippe Starck and Shiro Kuramata.
The deliberate use of a simplified iconic image - such as an ancient column, made of a cutting edge material, makes it a great pop art object as well. Heavy, 30 kilo.
Good condition, normal marks consistent with age, some egally loss of transparancy in the middle. Manufacturers name on the base. This piece has an attribution mark,
