They are attributed to the 1910s-early 1920s and their form shows the influence of the De Stijl movement. They can be situated between Art Deco and Modernism, which is very typical of the productions of this era from Belgium or the Netherlands. They were most likely produced for a specific house in the "Interbellum" period and are therefore unique pieces, such as those found in the homes of Eduard Van Steenbergen, Emiel Verschueren, Huib Hoste, Gaston Eysselinck, Jan Wils, J.J.P Oud, or Georges Bourgeois. The influence of Frank Lloyd Wright can also be seen indirectly, as JJP Oud explains in Bauhaus Book No. 10 from 1925. The armchairs are very well preserved and very heavy. See less
