In the early 20th century, noted antique print collector Paul Victorius of Charlottesville, Virginia acquired a number of Selby’s original copper plates in Europe and produced a limited series of restrikes, which were then beautifully hand-colored. This engraving originates from that important restrike collection.

Printed on heavy paper and presented in excellent condition, with bright, well-preserved hand coloring. A striking example from one of the great ornithological publications of the 19th century.
