Two Large Ancient Pottery Vessels Double Handled Narrow Neck Amphora Amphorae
-purchased from the estate of a Seattle resident who was born in Jerusalem and immigrated to Seattle in the 1970's from Amman, Jordan
-larger vessel measures approximately:
18" tall x 15" diameter
weighs 18 lbs 9 oz
-smaller vessel measures approximately:
16" x 15" diameter
weighs 12 lbs 6 oz
The smaller of the two has, what appears to be, a small ball of clay attached with tiny nails or tacks that go through to the inside of the vessel. Both pots have many cracks, but feel solid.
