A fine oil pastel, signed and titled 'Pentitente Crosses' Taos August 19th '56. Framed.
Amalia de Schulthess born and raised in Switzerland, she studied at the State College Trogen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and the Kunstgewerbeschule, Zurich. Amalia is known for painting and sculpture, while living in New York after WW2 she was inspired by the Modernist artists of the era. After moving to Los Angeles and Santa Fe she continued to paint and showed in galleries and in the 1960s began work in Sculpture.
