Classic twentieth century boat compass by American maker Wilcox Crittenden of Middletown Connecticut. The gimballed compass has been meticulously polished and lacquered. This classic marine instrument is fitted to its original hardwood box with a fine varnished finish. The bottom of the compass bowl is dated 2/44 (February 1944). The box has a sliding lid. This choice nautical relic is one of a group of compasses we have listed. They are perfect gifts and awesome decorator pieces for home or office.
