This set of 3 miniature bowls was designed by John Andersson for the Swedish manufacture Höganäs Keramik during the 1950s. Handmade by the Master, with the utmost care and attention to detail. Bowls dyed in irregular shades of deep brown and green. Signed with the author's signature and the manufacturer's brand.
John Andersson (1899 - 1969). To this day, he is one of the most outstanding representatives of Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. He was one of the leading designers of the Höganäs factory in the 1940s and 1960s. His works can be seen at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design. Andersson was a master of expressing artistic beauty on a miniature scale.
Höganäs Keramik formerly AJ Andersson & Johansson Keramik was founded in 1909 by Johannes Olofsson and Sigfrid Johansson. Modern household appliances have taken an indisputable place in the history of Swedish design. Famous ceramicists at AJ/Höganäs included John Andersson, Anne Nilsson, Rolf Palm and Lisa Larrson, and Gunnar Borg. It is currently a design company and part of the Iittala Group, a Finnish art glass company.
This set is in original vintage condition.
