This antique Chinese Altar Table is made of Korean Zelkova Wood. Traditional "Auspicious" patterns decorate the front and back of the table (the table can be displayed from both sides) The side panels of the table are intricately carved with Chinese calligraphy of "Longevity" combined with "scrolls" design. The ornate carvings are double-sided and can be viewed from both sides. The wood used for the surface of this table is one single plank of wood and more than two inches thick. The table is crafted with wooden pegs and a tenon structure; which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. This is a very heavy table with great details of handwork. Excellent condition. Circa late of 18th century. Original patina and wear.
