A Pair of MCM Floor Lamps by Moss Mfg Co. The “Leaning Lena” was one of the first styles to … more A Pair of MCM Floor Lamps by Moss Mfg Co. The “Leaning Lena” was one of the first styles to became quite popular in the 1950s. Rare to find this particular style floor lamps in this condition.

Known for being the ‘conversation piece’ in the room, these lamps were part of a the rollout of new lamp styles. The Moss Mfg Co updated their lamp designs in the 1940s/50s and began using plexiglass and spun fiber glass along with motorized ceramics and more.

This pair has a modern, lighted plexiglass base in black & white with decorative spun paper inset. The interior of leg of the base lights up. A small planter is on the front side of the base; dimensions of planter 5”d x 4.5”h.

Two light sources on each; the center base has interior bulb, on its own switch, and the lampshades rest onto the glass globe at the top. All switches in working condition and has original wiring as well. The lampshade is original spun fiber glass material with a thick woven brown threading at all edges. These babes look like Derby hats! A true and modern appeal of the Moss-style lampshade silhouette with very flirty lines!

Excellent Vintage Condition. This pair was kept in a collector's home since they were a child. They were gifts from the parents on each milestone birthday. In their nineties, they decided to allow these in another collector's home, which gives you access to such a well-kept pair of MCM floor lamps! These are definitely a curator's piece and a very rare find. Having being kept so well, there is very little overall wear. These lamps show signs of wear consistent with age and use. Minor marks or light scratches on surface may be visible through plexiglass. No major chips or nicks. All wiring and switches in working condition. The lampshades are made of a spun fiber glass which is a softer, malleable material and wireframe. All threading in good condition, few marks and tiny loose threads may be visible. See photos and closeups for reference. All of our pieces are used and/or vintage pieces that have wear consistent with age. Each are rare, sometimes one-of-a kind that are found and hand-picked.
