An abstract, 20th-century oil-on-canvas by New York postmodernist BRIAN MESSINA (d. 2019). One of several paintings specially commissioned from the artist by MODERN REDUX, this multicolored, Impressionistic work depicts a field of wildflowers beneath a clouded blue sky. Highly textural, it evokes assorted patinas of rotting and decay—e.g.: rust, lichen, etc. We appreciate the self-referential “meta” title. Unframed; signed bottom right.
