"The Tonalá Museum stands on what was once the workshop of Jorge Wilmot (b 1928 - d 2012) who, along with his partner Ken Edwards, set up the town’s first high-fire ceramics oven between 1959-60. By 1985, the building was functioning as a museum, and the acquisition of a significant collection of indigenous ceramics lead to its establishment at a national museum level."
This is a circa late 1970s, early 1980s set of two light grey colored Japanese style tea cups with saucers that are embellished with a sun that has a face, as well as long-stemmed flowers rendered in shades of brown, blue, green, and a hint of black. They are each signed "Z", and resemble the work of Wilmot.
The two cups measure 2.75" in diameter, and 2.75" in height.
The two saucers measure 5.625" in diameter, and 1" in height.
