The glass making company, Pochet et du Courval, has been in the glassware business for four centuries. It is said that their glass is of such high quality that it is almost like crystal. They are responsible for creating the wonderful vessels used by Guerlain to bottle many of their delectable fragrances.
This particular shape of bottle was designed by Raymond Guerlain. The "Flacon Montre" design gets its name from the insinuation of the front of the bottle as the "face of a watch". "Montre" meaning watch in French. The Flacon Montre design was used by Guerlain from 1936-1999.
The vessel in this listing contained "Chamade", one of Guerlain's very popular fragrance. The name Chamade was inspired by Francoise Sagan's book "La Chamade". The Chamade bottle disk center was designated the light aqua color. Another very popular scent "Shalimar" was designated the color red. Each Guerlain fragrance had its own designated color
The topper is of solid glass with a plastic cover on the glass plug.
The bottle is in very good vintage condition with the topper only having a small chip on the back of the tip. There is an interior mark around the neck of the bottle.
Wonderful decor addition. A stunner.
