A clear example of the sheer power of italian mid-century design dating back from the middle of the last century. A period where cassina was part of the absolute top in furniture manufacturing. And the italian designer gianfranco frattini was a master at this.a spacious round shape as a base and plateau stands on four round legs that protrude through the top. These specific legs are often found in frattini's designs and always radiate a finesse and a kind of softness. The first raised edge or band on the top clamps, as it were, between the legs. While the top ring is stretched on top of the legs. Brass spacers are attached at four points that connect to the smaller ring in the middle.the apparently simple but graceful base carries a round glass top with an equally round recess that aligns precisely with the wood on the outside and aligns with the smallest ring on the inside. A teak veneer in a diamond shape has been applied to the surface of the large round top. It furthermore shows a warm patina that has naturally developed over time.this table has been fully restored in our studio while meticulously retaining the patina.
